Archie Comic Shoes

With old shoes, old comics some Mod Podge and a bit of paint I made this wonderful pair of shoes.

So once i decided to make these shoes I started cutting away at my old comics picking out my favorite pages and images, this took me hours. The little details were a pain in the butt. Than the fun part came!

I started gluing the stack out cut-outs onto the shoes and my stack quickly became smaller and smaller. once the shoes were all covered all that was left was to put layer after layer of mod podge onto the shoe to make sure that it would stay. Before putting the last few coats of podge i needed to paint the grey areas. Than it was done.

I've worn them a few times but I have noticed that the faces are cracked where the shoe bends, so to make something like this again I would use heels made of some kind of pleather or leather.

And as you can see by the shoes I am a big Betty supporter or just because there were better pictures of her in the comic.

They still ended up great and I wear them when I have something special to go to where I don't expect to walk a lot because I want to make these last.

But go ahead get an old pair of shoes and a good comic book and make yourself a beautiful and unique pair of shoes!
